Mag Mile Chicago

Michigan Ave, Chicago 2016

The lights are aglow on Chicago's 'Magnificent Mile' (aka Michigan Avenue). Just an quick Uber/Lyft/CTA ride from Portage Park, Andersonville, Uptown, Wrigleyville, DePaul, Lincoln Square, Roscoe Village, Ukrainian Village, Bucktown; and mere steps from the River North and Printers Row/Loop neighborhoods of Chicago, this world famous shopping district always has a great holiday vibe going on. Yeah, I know...its 'Cyber Monday yadda yadda, but there's nothing like spending a little face time with the beautiful people at Chanel, Gucci, Hermes...and yes, UNIQLO (Pictured above. If you haven't heard of it then Google it. Best prices on earth for the good stuff).

Top 10 Chicago Real Estate Deals | River North

My past SOLD listing @451 W Huron

Click the highlighted link to view my Top 10 Chicago Real Estate Deals in the River North neighborhood of Chicago.  Priced between 1- 1.6 Million $$ USD. (2016 Winter)

Geographically, the
River North neighborhood is tucked in between Superior Street to the north, the winding Chicago River to the west and south, and that great State Street to the east. It is steps away from the Magnificent Mile shopping district of Michigan Avenue and a mere five buck and change cab ride to almost anywhere else in the downtown vicinity. For public transport, the Chicago Brown Line ‘L’ rumbles gently overhead with platform stops at both Chicago Avenue and the Merchandise Mart. CTA buses run ‘round the clock in every other direction. Taxi, Uber and Zip Car options are endless.

The Buena Park Neighborhood of Chicago

Mural art by Jeffrey Littleton

N Marine Drive & W  Buena Ave

Buena Park, tucked neatly between the Wrigleyville and Uptown neighborhoods of Chicago, is just a few tranquil steps away from Montrose Harbor, the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course, and my favorite new dog-walking destination, Peace Garden (pictured above). Notice Park Place Tower (my GenoPetro.House office location) standing in the far right background. Loving the North Side of Chicago before the winter chill sets in.

Wrigleyville Home Stand

Sheffield & Waveland

The Cubs are back in the Wrigleyville neighborhood of Chicago this weekend to take a swing (haha) at baseball immortality. My condo is a few blocks away from the field and I'm looking forward to being 'present in the moment,' if only from afar (note the 'Bleachers' center field entrance above). Ticket prices are ridiculous so the game will most likely be broadcasted via old school radio waves for me. That's cool. Really cool.

How about this landmine at the corner of Irving Park Rd and Clarendon in the Wrigleyville neighborhood of Chicago? Been there for a couple months now. A pot/man-hole disaster just waiting to happen. Cyclists, non-SUV drivers, and jaywalkers beware.

Printers Row Condo

Just sold a 2 bed/2bath condo in the Printers Row neighborhood of Chicago.  The relatively new construction high-rise, as you can see, is a lock box friendly zone. In other words, the majority of listing agents/Realtors associated with this address are not present for their respective showings. I had the buyers in this transaction and was present at both showings as well as the home inspection. In fact, I attend every showing for my clients, whether buy-side or sale-side. I personally show each of my listed properties and only supply a lock box in case of emergency or extreme scheduling conflict and only with non-occupied/vacant properties. Nonetheless, its a funny visual. Also, the showing instructions on the Chicago MLS read "Key in Lockbox on Fence." Double LOL.

Uptown Chicago Relo?

Wilson & Magnolia Avenues, Chicago

Not sure what the story is (was) with the Starbucks at Wilson & Magnolia in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. Hopefully a Relocation is on the corporate menu. It was part of my morning coffee routine when showing properties in the area (and an ad hoc office/wireless hotspot on more than a few occasions).

Flashback Wrigleyville Storefront

'YESTERDAY'  at 1143 W Addison St, Chicago

Anyone who has ever rolled down Addison St in the Wrigleyville neighborhood of Chicago has passed YESTERDAY,  the 100+ year old storefront pictured above.  Originally a barber shop then a TV repair store, YESTERDAY opened its doors as a comic and memorabilia business in 1976 and is still a neighborhood fixture 40 years later. "Where past meets present" says the sign above the front entrance. Totally.

Old School Chicago Shoe Repair

Tucked away in a basement storefront at the corner of Irving Park and Clarendon (on the Wrigleyville neighborhood | Uptown neighborhood cusp), Kell's is an old school Chicago shoe repair shop (keys & belts, too according to the signs). And...they did a great re-furb of the wife's Ferragamos (pictured above)

Wrigleyville Recycle

purple sofa in Chicago

One man's trash is another man's...well, trash. I spotted this crushed velvet toss-away in the recycle room of the Park Place Towers condominium building at 655 W Irving Park Rd (Wrigleyville neighborhood of Chicago). Safe to say, no animals were harmed in the upholstering of this sofa although some interior decorating feathers were no doubt ruffled over its domestic lifespan.

RIP (Rest In Purple) and whose ever apartment this came from, let's only hope the carpet doesn't match the drapes.

Chicago Polar Plunge 2016

Check it:  http://sochicago.org/chicago-polar-plunge/

Think I'll sit this one out...again, for several reasons--lack of swimming skills, unnecessary additional shrinkage, etc.  But Please, do indulge yourself if you care. And if you have the means to donate, even better: It's for the Special Olympics.
